The term may also be used for a private club that offers only certain types of gambling, such as a members-only casino.
A notable casino is the Bellagio in Las Vegas, which features a famous fountain show and luxurious accommodations. The casino industry is heavily regulated by governments to prevent criminal activity such as money laundering and match-fixing.
Casino employees keep a close eye on patrons and games to ensure everything is as it should be. Dealers are able to spot many types of cheating, such as palming and marking cards or switching dice. Table managers and pit bosses have a broader view, making sure patrons aren’t stealing from each other and watching betting patterns that could signal cheating.
